The energy performance certificate - gradual introduction

From when energy certificates must be submitted:

since 2002 for all new buildings

1.7.2008 for all residential buildings up to 1965

1.1.2009 for all residential building from 1966

1.7.2009 for all non-residential buildings

The energy performance certificate creates a simple seal of approval for the energy quality of buildings and ensures greater transparency and comparability in the property market. Thus, it will boost the demand for energy-optimized objects and give modernizing impulses.

ENERGY CARD for non-residential buildings


Since 1 July 2009 require a non-residential building energy certificate.


As a non-residential buildings are in the local area, for example, district offices, town halls, kindergartens, schools, universities and hospitals to the public and over 1,000 m² of floor space. The document must be prominently displayed to the public.


There is free choice between a requirement and a consumption card.

The consumption certificate relates only were strongly influenced by user behavior, usage of the last three years with the calculation.


The performance certificate is based on an intensive analysis of the energetic quality of the individual building components such as heating system, walls, ceilings, roof and windows and is therefore much more meaningful.
